Free mother and child clinic
Overview
Located in the heart of Tharparkar, one of Pakistan’s most extreme desert regions, the Thar Free Mother & Child Clinic has been operational since April 2022 and addresses urgent healthcare needs for women, children, and infants. With temperatures often nearing 50°C, residents of remote villages face serious challenges in accessing basic medical care, leading to high rates of illness, malnutrition, and maternal health risks. The clinic provides free medical treatment, medications, and preventive services to patients who cannot afford healthcare, serving more than 38 villages within a 40-mile radius and beyond.
Services & Community Impact
The clinic offers antenatal check-ups, newborn examinations, vaccinations, eye and dental care, and timely referrals for complicated cases. It addresses child malnutrition through medical treatment, and nutrition education, with plans for meal programs and workshops. Thousands of consultations, health camps, free medicines, and community awareness sessions on hygiene, nutrition, and early care-seeking have strengthened health outcomes, food security, and community trust, making the clinic a vital hub for maternal, child, and community well-being.
